The Homosassa State Park has a Whooper on the nest with one or two eggs! The Whooping Crane is one of the rarest birds in North America.

The nesting pair are not afforded much isolation or privacy - only a piece of translucent garden cloth over the fence separates the birds from the visitors.

The male crane was observed to be quite disturbed, by the nearby onlookers, and poked at them as they walked by.

I think the park needs input from the various crane experts on nesting endangered birds.
