DC-6 N7780B was Howard Hughes Personal airplane.

It was purchased by Evert's Air Fuel in July of 2008 with only 17 hours on the engines ( that means it was brand a new airplane - produced between (1948-1958!)

Interior Alaska has a very limited road map. If you live in a remote village, you depend on the village generator for electricity. And for all the other things that use diesel!

Evert's Air Fuel flies aircraft modified, for fuel delivery, to the small villages. The DC-6 can deliver, a load of fuel, to the 4000 foot (1230 meters) gravel landing strips of the village
