The River Otter is found in most of Central Florida. I've seen them on various parts of Paynes Prairie.

Lake Wauberg Bridge is the best place to photograph them. They've been seen on LaChua, Cones' Dike and Prairie Creek.

Their eyesight is not very good but their hearing is excellent. If you wear dull colors or "camo" and stand still they'll come in close.

You will see otters at all times of the day but most frequently in the cool mornings before the gators reach "mobile" temperature ( ~62F )
