_MG_7493 Black and White Sherman

The Sherman's Fox Squirrel does not usually have such dramatic coloring.

I've seen local populations that don't follow the rules! Like the Black Squirrels of Princeton NJ.

This squirrel was found in Silver River State Park. I wonder if there is a group of similar coloration.

So far, I have found three distinct color patterns in three sites not more than ten miles apart. I guess they don't commute a lot!
