Driving down State Road 40 through the Ocala National Forest offers a chance to see some of the "Locals" doing their thing.

This large Black Bear was headed across the highway when we turned around to get the photo! (Photographer noted in mirror!)

A large percentage of the Florida Black Bear Roadkill occurs on this road. Striking a bear can do far more damage than a deer.

Be especially carefull at dusk, nightime and during the first hours.
